Ebastine Tablets I.P. 20mg – Antihistamines such as ebastine tablets I.P. 20 mg constitute a second generation of medications. Their domain of operation covers those symptoms associated with allergic conditions. By virtue of being a non-sedating H₁ receptor antagonist, ebastine is helpful in relieving allergic rhinitis, urticaria (hives), and disorders of related types, without causing much sedation.
Composition
Active Ingredient: Ebastine 20 mg
Ebastine is quickly metabolized by the body to its active metabolite carebastine, which exhibits therapeutic action. The conversion thereby maintains effectiveness over an entire day.
How It Works
Ebastine acts by specifically inhibiting the peripheral H₁ receptors and thus blocking the actions of histamine, a factor responsible for the allergic symptom manifestation. These mostly include itching, swelling, redness, and pain arising in a matter of minutes heading into hours of an allergic reaction, with ebastine minimizing their intensity by blocking histamine from binding at the receptors.
